About the Opportunity: A growing boutique law firm is seeking an experienced Family Paralegal to join its legal team. This full-time, permanent opportunity is ideal for a highly organized professional who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment and enjoys supporting lawyers on complex family law matters. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing files, coordinating court-related activities, and ensuring the efficient progression of client matters.
Key Responsibilities: Draft legal correspondence, pleadings, affidavits, financial statements, Stripping/closing files and other court documents. Prepare trial binders, chambers materials, document briefs, and Lists of Documents. Performing BC Online searches for corporate summaries, title search and PPSA searches. Coordinate court filings, service documents, and communication with court agents. Manage lawyer calendars, court appearances, discoveries, mediations, and hearing schedules. Conduct online searches and assist with file organization, maintenance, and closure. Assisting with setting up hearing dates, trial dates, discovery dates, and arranging mediations, settlement conferences, pre-trial conferences and interlocutory applications. Drafting pleadings including affidavits and Form 8 Financial Statements;
Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited Paralegal program. Minimum 5 years of paralegal experience, preferably in family law. Strong technical proficiency with legal document preparation and Microsoft Office applications. Excellent organizational, communication, and file management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a high-volume environment. Proficiency in Korean or Mandarin is preferred. Utilizing DivorceMate software to assist in drafting family law forms and pleadings.
